pictars

This is me and the boyfriend. It was taken back in September, but it's the closest thing I have to a full-body shot. I'm hoping to get some more pictures soon, but I wanted to get something up now before I wait too long. I currently weigh 295 lbs, and my goal is to be 200 lbs by December 4th. I'm running a marathon in Las Vegas either Dec. 4th or 5th, so I think with all the training I'm doing for it, I will be very close. I gained weight this week, but I didn't really focus on my diet like I know I should. There's always tomorrow!

  1. Small steps! And gaining weight isn't always bad. You'll probably gain muscle mass along the way. Most important is a change in body composition, I guess. I don't know how to check BMI, but I think that's the best way to track progress if you can figure it out.

Also, you have to keep in mind, if you don't already know, that your body's weight fluctuates from day to day, and sometimes from early morning to afternoon.

I did a little "experiment" with that. I weighed myself in the morning after "necessaries," and then weighed myself a few hours later, nothing having gone in or out, and I was 2 pounds lighter. I tried it several more times, and it was still the same thing! Not sure why, but I thought it was weird/neat.

I think you're off to a great start! It's not always about going "cold turkey" the first week. Taking some time to gain an understanding of what you need to do to make the changes, to prepare yourself mentally, to gain supplies, and to get into good habits are all important in the beginning!! It'll get way easier as you go along, and even though you'll probably still eat stuff that other people say is "bad" for you, overall you'll know your body well enough to know what to eat and when. You'll start making the healhi(er) choices when you shop, and when you go out to eat, and you won't always "have to" choose the salad :)
